OVERVIEW
This game is designed for visitors without any knowledge of the local language and ideal for groups of 6 – 15. It’s for intellectually adventurous people who are willing to test their language learning and communicative skills. Everyone knows Hungarian is infamously difficult and most people do not speak English.
You will be thrown into the deep end with a shopping list of local items which you’ll have to buy and produce at the end of the game using your communication and improvisational skills with local shopkeepers.
We’ll prepare you with a 45-minute language session over a coffee or tea in a pleasant café while you learn the basics of how to pronounce Hungarian words and learn some phrases you can use with the locals.

The scenario of the game is as follows:
We will meet in the STEX café in central Budapest and after learning the rules of the game you’ll have a fun language session with one of our teachers.
We will split you into small groups of 2-4. You’ll be given a shopping list and an activity list that you will need to complete in the neighbourhood in one hour.
You’ll have to buy certain items and try your hand at sending a postcard from the local Post Office, for example.
At the end of the game you’ll get to compare your successes (and failures!) and the winners will get a prize.
